Wise Cat Apothecary Mullein Tea is a simple tea: it is made of only dried organic mullein leaves. Mullein has a long history of use for lung concerns. It is soothing for a dry cough, yet it can also stimulate the expelling of phlegm. While often used for asthma and bronchitis, some find it supportive for chest colds and allergies–anything that causes stress to the respiratory system.*
Mullein is best made as a strong tea, so we recommend a long steeping time–at least 20 minutes. Because of this, we also suggest making several servings at one time (1 tbsp per 8 oz of boiling water). The tea will keep in the refrigerator for up to four days. It is safe to drink up to four cups of the tea daily. This tea is best served hot.
