Chest Salve

Description

Wise Cat Apothecary Chest Salve created from olive oil infused with dried peppermint leaves, dried lavender flowers, dried thyme leaf, dried rosemary, and dried chamomile flowers. While many chest salves incorporate essential oils, we opted for dried herbs to reduce the likelihood of skin irritation and an over-production of mucus. Instead, we have tried to create a chest salve that acts as a mild expectorant while easing the dry hacking of a spasmodic cough.* The salve can be used up to three times a day. Apply liberally to the chest area. Use with caution on children under 18 months as peppermint, even when dried, contains menthol which may result in over-production of mucous in some infants.

This salve is packaged in a 2 oz tin. You may find our Mullein Tea helpful in managing coughs, as well.
