Description
Wise Cat Apothecary Tick Away Gel is a blend of insect repelling essential oils mixed into a carrier solution of distilled water and aloe vera gel. Geranium, citronella, cedarwood, and lemongrass are among the scents that insects dislike the most, and ticks really hate this combination. We can’t claim 100% effectiveness, but we have found our Tick Away Gel to greatly reduce the number of ticks we remove after spending time outside.
Because these oils are diluted into aloe vera gel, it is safe to apply directly to exposed skin: arms, ankles, legs, etc. Simply rub the gel onto the skin as you would lotion, leaving the skin a bit damp. We suggest refraining from applying to the face as facial skin is particularly sensitive. However, Tick Away Gel may be applied to the neck.
Tick Away Spray is packaged in a 4 oz/ 118 mL aluminum bottle with a screw cap. Because essential oils will oxidize easily, you may notice discoloration around the mouth of the bottle. Simply wipe this away. The product in the bottle will still work. Be sure to cap the bottle tightly after use.
